Taut, creamy, natural.
This method ancestrale wild ferment sparkling wine is made from organically grown Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Gamay grown in the Vantage Point Vineyard in Kaleden.
Buchanan describes his small cuvee wines as: sustainable, honest and progressive, producing wines with personality and a purity of flavour.
He uses indigenous yeast, minimal amounts of sulfites, no enzymes and no temperature control; they are unfined with little to no filtration.
It suggests lemon-lime, beeswax and yellow fruit with leesy undertones of bread dough on the nose. It's dry and restrained with fine intermittent bubbles. Flavours suggest mineral/wet stone, lemon and tealeaf; the acid is taut but softened by a creamy texture.
